CTF Information

Some info about CTFs...

  • What is a CTF?

    Well, a CTF (Capture the Flag) is a cybersecurity competition that focuses on a variety of topics. This includes Web Exploitation, Binary Exploitation, Forensics, Cryptography, Reversing and so much more. CTFs test you on these skills by providing you with fun and interactive challenges, where the goal is to capture a flag. A flag looks very similar to flag{hi_i_am_a_flag}. Here are some great links to help you understand what a ctf is:

  • HALPPPPPP I've never done a CTF before?!?!?!?!?!

    Woah...Woah...Woah...don't worry. This CTF will test people from all difficulty ranges. We want to be as inclusive as possible with how hard our challenges are. This means there will be a plethora of problems that a geared to those who start CTFs for the first time, and there will be just as many for those who are regulars. We want our CTF to boost CTF morale in general. This means those who are long-time competitors and those who have made this CTF their first CTF, should really enjoy the competition. This does not mean...all problems will be easy :p

Our CTF...

PBJar CTF

Here are some common questions we would like to answer about our CTF and CTFs in general.

  • Prizes:

    We have *x* ammount of money to give out thanks to our generous sponsors to both divisions.

    -->‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏First place: a dollars

    -->‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏Second place: b dollars

    -->‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏Third place: c dollars

    Divisions:

    We will have two divisions Highschool and Open/College we do allow those in the Highschool division to switch to the Open/College division if they want. The criteria for the Highschool division is that you must be in the range of K-12. We do allow upcoming college freshmen to compete as Highschoolers since we consider that as still 12th grade.

    Better put:

    -->‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏High school division is for US-based high school seniors (and younger)

    -->‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ Open/College is well...open to all!
